Dear Colleagues! Far Eastern Federal University and Botanical Garden-Institute FEB RAS cordially invite you to the First FEFU International Conference "Climate Change constrains and opportunities in the Asian Pacific Region: Human-Biosphere-Atmosphere Interactions and Green Growth" that will be held in Vladivostok, Russia, on 24-26 of October, 2017.

The conference focuses on an holistic and integrated view of the problems related to global climatic change in Asian Pacific region. We need to go beyond sectorial research addressing climate change impacts with monitoring technologies and models able to integrate different scales of investigation, sectors and able to provide solutions for mitigation and predict overall risks. The aim of the conference is to bring in a multi-disciplinary approach going from biophysical processes to economic business models which take into account the value of natural capital. Overall an integrated assessment of constraints but also opportunities in the Asian Pacific region will be discussed.

The main theme of the Conference

The purpose of the Conference is not only to exchange knowledge but also to find common points in existing and developing theories and a logical basis for the future study of climate change effects on nature and different fields of human activities and elaborate approaches to the assessment the cost of climate change impact for a global and regional economies.

We expect the main topics will include:

1. Ecosystem biogeochemical and energy fluxes
2. Soil greenhouse gas fluxes
3. Atmospheric processes and climate feedbacks
4. Climate predictions
5. Agriculture and climate change adaptation
6. Integrated assessment models
7. Biodiversity and climate change
8. Biogeochemical models
9. Climate change, green technologies and business opportunities

In addition to papers on these topics, we welcome your proposals for new subjects to be discussed during the Conference.

At the end of symposium we plan to organize a Round-table discussion with regional and global green economy stakeholders.

Major side event of the Conference is a Climate change school for young researchers.
